In his new PBS documentary, Ken Burns and co-Director Lynn Novick explore the period of 1919 to 1933, when the 18th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution outlawed -- and the 21st Amendment again legalized -- alcohol sales and consumption.
The three-part, 5 1/2 hour documentary employs an extraordinary cast of narrators and readers, from Adam Arkin and Patricia Clarkson to Oliver Platt and Sam Waterston.
