Editorial Reviews

Much sweeter than Pirates of the Caribbean and more toe-tapping than The Pirates of Penzance, Dora and her crew will put the wind in your sails with this 45-minute musical voyage. Set sail with Dora, her cousin Diego, Boots the monkey, and the rest as they embark on a voyage to Treasure Island, where the Pirate Pigs have shanghaied a chest full of costumes for Dora's pirate play. Along the way, they will enlist viewers to use their map-reading, counting, observational, musical, and Spanish-language skills to successfully complete several challenges, including navigating the Seven Seas and getting past the Singing Bridge and the Big Bad Rocks. Of course, what the pigs really want to do is act, and all ends happily onstage with a "yo-ho-ho." Dora is a Master and Commander of the preschool set, and this double-length episode is a real treasure. Donald Liebenson, Barnes & Noble

September 10, 2004: How much fun could my five year old pirate fanatic son have than with that loveable bi-lingual adventurer, Dora! No walking the plank for this gal!
