Editorial Reviews

They're Britain's odd couple equivalent of Oscar and Felix. Stephen Fry (Gosford Park) and Hugh Laurie (Stuart Little) are perfect comedic foils as Jeeves -- the chivalrous, overly protective butler -- and Bertie Wooster, his generous, albeit slow-witted master. Jeeves and Wooster dazzled audiences when it premiered on the BBC in 1990, garnering critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic with its knack for turning the classic notion of master and servant on its head. The tales, based on the writings of P. G. Wodehouse, are a brilliant satire of Britain's class system, and Fry and Laurie are absolutely divine as they're continually beset by hopeless old friends, unwanted guests, and bizarre romantic entanglements. This eight-volume set collects the entire 23 episodes from the show's 4-year run, all remastered for DVD. For those in need of a good long laugh, a few hours with Jeeves and Wooster is a wondrous elixir. Barnes & Noble

March 23, 2009: Absolutely a delight to watch and good for your mental health. I always loved reading the stories, but this set of DVDs is even better. Just wish they had done more episodes.
