Part of the long-running British mystery series based on the stories by Colin Dexter, Inspector Morse: Daughters of Cain first aired in the U.K. in 1996. Inspector Morse (John Thaw) and Sergeant Lewis (Kevin Whately) investigate the murder of retired Oxford University Professor Dr. Felix McClure (Bernard Brown). At first they suspect the former custodian Ted Brooks (Anthony Haygarth), who had recently quit. While on the college campus, they discover that one of McClure's undergraduate students had committed suicide. The two deaths are found to be linked through Brooks' daughter, Kay (Amanda Ryan).
