    Part of the long-running British mystery series based on the stories by Colin Dexter, Inspector Morse: The Way Through the Woods was first aired in the U.K. in 1995. Inspector Morse (John Thaw) and Sergeant Lewis (Kevin Whately) investigate the death of "the Lovers Lane Killer" Steven Parnell (Gary Powell). It seems he was murdered in a prison fight before he could go to trial. While he usually killed couples, Parnell was the prime suspect in the murder trial of the single woman Karen Anderson.
