    Part of the long-running British mystery series based on the stories by Colin Dexter, Inspector Morse: The Infernal Serpent was first aired in the U.K. in 1990. Inspector Morse (John Thaw) and Sergeant Lewis (Kevin Whately) investigate the murder of a famous environmentalist. Morse discovers that the victim was preparing to reveal a controversy at Oxford's Beaufort College. This mystery was directed by John Madden, who would later direct Shakespeare in Love.
