Full Product DetailsOprah Winfrey began her career in 1973 in Nashville, Tennessee, as WTVF's youngest -- and first-ever African-American -- news anchor, before moving in 1976 to Baltimore's WJZ, where she took over the chat-fest People Are Talking in 1978. In 1983, Winfrey moved to Chicago's WLS to host AM Chicago, which within three years would become The Oprah Winfrey Show, roll out nationally via syndication, and begin to leave former 800-pound daytime talk gorilla Phil Donahue in its go-girl-next-door dust. The rest is…well, in this box: The Oprah Winfrey Show - 20th Anniversary DVD Collection finds Winfrey reminiscing though 20 years of amazing moments, from the guests that touched her heart to her life-changing trip to Africa. The six-disc collection follows Winfrey throughout her impressive career, starting with "The Beginning," which outlines the early days of her show; "Heartprints," offering her most emotionally affecting interviews; "Aha!," focusing on moments that provided lessons; and the five acts of "Stars," presenting the film giants Winfrey has welcomed to her evolving set over the years -- including the off-the-wall, couch-hopping appearance of Tom Cruise, as he discussed new love Katie Holmes in 2005. Also included here are clips from Winfrey's more recent shows, from makeovers and details of her weight-loss struggles to segments on Oprah's Book Club, the Angel Network, the Wildest Dreams features, and Oprah's complete, episode-long 50th birthday bash. It's hard to pick a favorite from such an incredible parade of TV magic, but Mary Tyler Moore's surprise appearance in 1997 is hard to beat. When Winfrey was first pursuing her TV dreams in Nashville, Moore was depicting Mary Richards, WJM Minneapolis TV news producer, in the top-rated Mary Tyler Moore Show: When Moore just happens to walk onto the set unannounced in the middle of the show, the look on Oprah's face is priceless. The star's company, Harpo Productions, will donate its full share of the profits from this DVD's sales to Oprah's Angel Network. Christina Urban, Barnes & Noble
