This concert film features Dweezil Zappa paying musical homage to his father, Frank Zappa, by performing some of that rocker's best-known compositions with the assistance of many celebrity accomplices including Steve Vai, Terry Bozzio, and Billy Hulting. June 26, 2008: All Movie Guide's Perry Siebert says this film stars "prolific, revered composer and musician Frank Zappa." Not so much. Frank was 14-years dead by the time this concert was filmed, so don't buy this expecting to see the Maestro. That's son Dweezil centerstage. Still, it is a phenomenal concert of phenomenal music by Zappa: The Next Generation (and Friends). Props, DZ, for a job well and lovingly done.
