Disney filmed its version of the Jack London story in 1991 and followed with this sequel four years later. Besides the presence of a dog named White Fang and its setting in the Alaska Gold Rush days, the story bears no resemblance to London's original story. Jack Conroy (Ethan Hawke), the hero of the first Disney film, has bequeathed his gold mine and the wild wolf-dog White Fang to young Henry Casey (Scott Barstow). The boy and dog thwart a would-be thief and decide to take their gold to San Francisco. While rafting to the nearest town, they capsize, lose their gold, and are separated. Lily (Charmaine Craig), a young Indian princess, rescues Henry from the rapids. She, along with her tribal chief Moses (Al Harrington) and his followers, believes that Henry is the reincarnation of a great spirit wolf who will help the Haida tribe find the Great Caribou. Henry and Lily fall in love, and Henry sets out to find the legendary Caribou who will save the tribe from extinction. Television actor Ken Olin made his directorial debut with this family fable. ~ Michael Betzold, All Movie Guide All Movie Guide

January 23, 2004: I thought this movie was interesting, yet unrealistic in some parts. For example when the wall that was blocking the way of the caribou was blasted and broke apart so evenly. Also, when the bag of gold just floated up the river it looked like it wouldn?t really happen. This movie was also sad in some parts, such as when White Fang was hurt and looked like he was dying. Though it added to the interest and drama of the movie and I enjoyed it. I think I would have enjoyed it better if the ending was a little sadder, like if something didn?t work out the way Henry or Lilly planned. I would have liked to see Henry spend his gold on something. All in all, I enjoyed the movie and thought it was entertaining. It is something the whole family can enjoy. May I make a suggestion to making another White Fang movie, White Fang 3. Henry should have more adventures with his loyal friend, White Fang. I think it would be great if Henry and Lilly would get married too. If the first and second White Fang were great hits, this one would be too.

January 21, 2004: Enjoyed White Fang 2, but not as much as the original White Fang, which was based upon true, historical events. This movie seemed to be reaching for relevance. The characters were charming and quite likable though.
