Editorial Reviews

Forest Whitaker, Dennis Quaid, William Hurt, and Matthew Fox star in director Pete Travis' Rashomon-style thriller in which an assassination attempt on the President of the United States is detailed from five unique perspectives. As the President arrives in Salamanca, gunshots ring out. An American tourist (Whitaker) has captured footage of the would-be assassin on videotape, and now, as the stories of the other four witnesses unfold, each essential piece of the puzzle quickly falls into place. Only when all of the stories are told will the chilling truth to this shocking crime finally emerge. Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

November 08, 2009: I saw this movie with my son on Paris Island without any intel to work with. After the first view point, we thought that was a short movie and had to reload when it backed up and took another view.

Dennis Quaid was awesome from all angles.

Forest Whitaker fit perfectly as a By-Stander innocentley video taping a vacation.

Sigourney Weaver is still "the action woman", evil and beauty "looks" at the same time.

The ambulance racing toward the girl and the car crashes are spectacular.

I Also Recommend: Panic Room, Lost - The Complete First Season, We Are Marshall.

August 17, 2008: I rather liked the political thriller &quot Vantage Point.&quot The repetition of the movie's story from the different points of view of the main characters affords the movie a nightmarish quality. It's like you have to keep reliving a nightmare over and over making it that much more hellish, the tension mounting with each reliving. You feel trapped with no escape. You know what's going to happen and there's nothing you can do about it. The strands of the plot come together plausibly when the ambulance careens toward the little girl on the street, and in the ensuing violence and car crashes the story is resolved satisfactorily.
