Set in the years leading up to and following World War I, the nine-time Emmy Award-winning series follows the travails of the aristocratic Bellamy family and their servant staff, who inhabit the opulent 165 Eaton Place. The fifth and final season covers the Roaring '20s up until the stock market crash, as the family confronts life after the war, budding romances among the downstairs staff, and the General Strike of 1926. This four-disc set collects all 16 episodes from the show’s climactic last season, culminating with the sale of the Bellamy home. Whether you’re a devoted fan or a first-time viewer, the compelling entourage at Eaton Place is sure to have you aching for more Upstairs Downstairs. Episodes are as follows:

  • "On With the Dance" -- World War I is over, and 165 Eaton Place moves into the '20s. Richard plans for the future with his new wife; Edward and Daisy return to Eaton Place; and the servants begin to wonder about their security.
  • "A Place in the World" -- After leaving the army, James decides to follow in his father's footsteps and enter politics.
  • "Laugh a Little Louder Please" -- On the day a new governess is due to arrive, James and Georgina throw a wild party that ends tragically.
  • "The Joy Ride" -- James takes his stepmother flying, and anxiety grips the household when they’re reported missing.
  • "Wanted: A Good Home" -- Virginia's son goes off to boarding school, and the Bellamy household is thrown into a state of confusion.
  • "An Old Flame" -- James rekindles an old flame when he bumps into Diana Newbury in a club.
  • "Disillusion" -- When Hudson is seen at the Wembley Exhibition in the company of the housemaid, a household crisis develops.

  • "Alberto" -- Georgina's friendship with a wild society girl leads to an ugly scene when she introduces Georgina to a film producer.
  • "Will Ye No Come Back Again" -- James's feelings for Georgina finally come to a head. Meanwhile, Hudson investigates strange behavior in the Highlands.
  • "Joke Over" -- Georgina's association with a group of irresponsible young socialites leads to a tragic accident and a serious family row.
  • "Noblesse Oblige" -- Georgina falls in love with one of her new admirers, but his social position makes their future happiness uncertain.
  • "All the King’s Horses" -- James returns from America with a renewed enthusiasm and hope for the future. But things change when he invests all of Rose's money in the stock market.
