Few bands have stayed on top, both creatively and commercially, for as long as the arena-friendly rock quartet U2. A quarter century removed from the band’s modest Dublin roots, 2004 saw the release How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb follow U2’s standard release trajectory to top of the charts. The subsequent tour was among the year’s hottest tickets; and this concert DVD -- filmed over two May nights at Chicago's United Center -- demonstrates why U2 remains one of rock’s uniquely powerful attractions, the only band of its generation able to strut the stadium risers with Rolling Stones-like authority. In U2 Live from Chicago, the band mixes such recent hits as "Original of the Species," "Vertigo," and "Sometimes You Can't Make It on Your Own" with the early anthems "New Year's Day" and “Sunday Bloody Sunday,” as well as mid-period favorites such as "Pride," "Mysterious Ways," "One," "Beautiful Day," and many more. January 30, 2008: I bought this video for my boyfriend's birthday in October, two months before we were off to Hawaii for their final Vertigo Concert Date in Honolulu, Hawaii (12/2007). All I can say is the DVD is amazing. We watch it still several times a week. If you were unable to catch U2 in concert, this is definitely the next best thing.

October 23, 2007: Living in the Chicago area but missing the concert I bought this dvd as a last minute stocking stuffer for my husband. He is obcessed with this dvd.He watches it every Sunday and whenever he needs to mellow out from a long day. The kids say " Again Dad?!"I recently purchased the Dublin tour. I hope he loves it just as much.
