In 1987 we were introduced to a group of couples, of friends... "thirtysomethings." Created by Marshall Herskovitz and Edward Zwick, it was a dream cast of characters that from the very first episode resonated with fans who knew these people all too well. Michael (Ken Olin) and Hope Steadman (Mel Harris), the suburban "new-parent" poster children; Elliot (Timothy Busfield) and Nancy Weston (Patricia Wettig), a couple whose marriage is falling apart; Gary Shepard (Peter Horton), the perpetually "twenty something" thirtysomething; Melissa Steadman (Melanie Mayron), Michael’s cousin and a struggling artist; and Ellyn Warren (Polly Draper), the driven but restless career-chaser. At last, the ground-breaking series comes to DVD with 21 original Season 1 (1987-8) episodes restored from the original film elements. Go behind the making of this landmark television series with all-new interviews, commentaries, and conversations with the creators, cast, and crew. From the Studio

November 16, 2009: It's been a long time comming, but worth the wait. This video brings back my memories of the first showing on television twenty years ago. The laughs, tears & joys seem so genuine as my wife & myself were thitysomethings when we first viewed this show. It is a well written, directed & produced video/television show. Well worth your time & money. A.P.
