Editorial Reviews

The Man With the Golden Gun, Roger Moore's second outing as James Bond (Live and Let Die was the first), whisks our hero off to Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, and then the South China Sea in search of a solar energy weapon. His opponent is Scaramanga (Christopher Lee), who rules the roost on a well-fortified island. Scaramanga's aide-de-camp is Nick Nack, played by future Fantasy Island co-star Herve Villechaize. Britt Ekland plays the bikinied Mary Goodnight, whose clumsy efforts to help Bond thwart Scaramanga are almost as destructive as the elusive solar device. The Man With the Golden Gun was adapted by Richard Maibaum and Tom Mankiewicz from Ian Fleming's last James Bond novel, which had to be published posthumously in "rough draft" form. July 12, 2003: After his great first run as Bond in ''Live and Let Die,'' Roger Moore comes back to face Scaramanga, the ''Man With the Golden Gun''. Scaramanga is an assassin who uses a unique golden pistol and charges a million dollars a hit. He took the Solex Agitator, a device for converting sunlight into energy (very important during the energy crisis) and Bond has to get it back, along with the help of agent Mary Goodnight. Christopher Lee, who plays Scaramanga, is kind of like an evil version of Bond. Both Moore and Lee are great in this movie. Also, if you saw ''Live and Let Die,'' do you remember Sheriff J.W. Pepper? Well, he's back for another funny bit in this movie. If you liked ''Live and Let Die'' or the Connery films, you'll love this movie!
