Veteran British filmmaker Philip Saville directs the religious epic The Gospel of John, a production of the Canadian company Visual Bible International. This three-hour drama attempts to accurately follow the Gospel According to John, written sometime during the first century. The gospel contains four segments: an introduction to the nature of Jesus Christ; testimony by disciples and the presence of miracles; the Last Supper and crucifixion; and the appearance of the risen Christ. Henry Ian Cusick plays Jesus and Christopher Plummer provides voice-over narration. The Gospel of John was shown in a special presentation at the 2003 Toronto Film Festival. March 02, 2009: This is historically thought provoking to say the least. What a way to get to know Jesus if you don't already. Delicious.

November 30, 2008: We had rented this movie a couple years back at a BlockBuster & We knew we had to have this movie. My husband watches it over & over.
I loan this movie out to anyone with any questions regarding "God" "Jesus". This movie is straight out of the new testament. This is the most beautiful, comprehensive, knowledgable movie I have ever seen. I have to order 2 more because every time I loan ours out my husband hopes it will be returned? You never know, that's how great it is. This is a must have for your movie collection.
