    The USS Nimitz, a modern-day nuclear-powered aircraft carrier captained by Kirk Douglas, passes through a time warp and finds itself at Pearl Harbor on December 6, 1941. Douglas is all for preventing the infamous Japanese attack by unleashing the 1980s technology at his disposal.     August 21, 2007: The title has always been The final countdown, the Philadelphia experiment is a totally different movie, obviously Ed was seriously mistaken. Both movies are great, the only complaint i have is in the extra features where the director seems to want to lay blame on actors where there was no need to air out dirty laundry. It did cast a shadow over the movie. i suggest not watching the extra features and just enjoy the movie for what it is, A great movie
