    Editorial Reviews

The surprise ratings hit of the 2001-2 television season, The Carol Burnett Show: Show Stoppers reunites the show's legendary cast for a highlight reel of ad libs, outtakes, and bloopers. With their over-the-top antics, Carol Burnett, Harvey Korman, Vicki Lawrence, and Tim Conway made The Carol Burnett Show an unparalleled success -- the pinnacle of the skit-show format that was first developed in the '50s and remained in fashion for three decades. Some would argue that the show was so successful that it broke the mold, before ceding the '70s television landscape to the more zeitgiest-driven humor of Saturday Night Live. Show Stoppers is a smorgasbord of Burnett classics, including Tim Conway’s famous "Old Man" and Harvey Korman’s "Mother Marcus," and each clip is accompanied by the stars reminiscing about trying to keep a straight face while the audience broke up around them. For fans of The Carol Burnett Show, Show Stoppers is a nostalgic trip through some of the finest comedic moments in television history. Barnes & Noble

July 09, 2009: Very disappointed. I was wanting to see some episodes and not just the cast talking to the audience. Loved this show growing up.

April 16, 2005: i was excited to see this on your shelf, however i wished they had the whole show rather than clips here and there. it was a heartwarming to see the cast share wonderful memories.
