After the wild success of A Hard Day's Night and Help!, the Beatles's music began moving in a more mind-expanding direction, and The Magical Mystery Tour, their third film, reflects that change. "Trippy" is the word that best describes this psychedelic extravaganza. Leaving conventional plot behind, this picaresque tale follows the Fab Four and assorted oddball companions as they travel the English countryside in a magic bus. Pulsating with bright colors and filled with bizarre imagery, this 50-minute film -- produced and directed by the Beatles themselves for British television -- functions as a kind of proto-music video for the slew of great songs that grace its soundtrack. November 15, 2009: Well, after waiting over a month to receive it, I was very disappointed when I viewed this movie. I love The Beatles and the movie was typical Beatles..strange. What bothered me was the quality of the movie. Remastered? Please...the clarity is so poor I could not see anyone's face. Everything was whited out! My eyes actually hurt after viewing. I know the original was not made like this, as I have seen it before. Again, poor quality and poor viewing ability made this very disappointing.

January 15, 2009: I decided to order the DVD a few weeks ago, and since then, I have been enjoying every minute of it. The movie itself doesn't have much of a plot, but "Magical Mystery Tour" takes you on this exciting, though bizarre trip. The music is great, though doesn't feature most of the popular songs from the 1967 album, "Magical Mystery Tour, " including Penny Lane, All You Need is Love, and Strawberry Fields Forever. However, most of the Beatles more psychidelic songs, like "Blue Jay Way, Your Mother Should Know, Flying, and Magical Mystery Tour" are featured in the movie. I own the Beatles earliest movies, including "A Hard Day's Night" and "Help!"
