Editorial Reviews

The 26 episodes of That '70s Show’s 1999-2000 season all revolve around the typical problems of growing up in Middle America (Wisconsin, specifically) and trying to be cool in the Me Decade. The full cast of Fox’s polyester-flashback hit all return: series breakout stars Topher Grace and Ashton Kutcher as Eric Foreman and best bud Michael Kelso; Laura Prepon as Donna Pinciotti, Foreman’s next-door neighbor; Mila Kunis as Kelso's girlfriend, Jackie Burkhardt; Danny Masterson as paranoid cool cat Steve Hyde; and Wilmer Valderrama as girl-crazy exchange student Fez. Highlight episodes include: the season opener, "Garage Sale," which finds Eric's parents, Red (Kurtwood Smith) and Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp), accidentally eating Hyde's "special brownies"; "Red's Last Day," in which Kelso and Eric's sister, Laurie (Lisa Robin Kelly), go all the way in the back of his van; "The Velvet Rope," wherein Kelso emulates Bowie by wearing makeup and dressing in drag; "Eric Gets Suspended," when he is caught with the rebellious Laurie's cigarette; and the hilarious "Halloween," featuring Happy Days mom Marion Ross as Eric's grandmother and Fez in a classically campy Batman costume. Another clever episode is the half-animated "Afterglow," wherein Fez dreams that his friends are in the middle of a Scooby-Doo caper. Keep an eye out for walk-ons from real ‘70s survivors Paul Anka, The Carol Burnett Show's Lyle Waggoner, and Three's Company supporting players Jenilee Harrison and Richard Kline. Barnes & Noble

July 17, 2005: Let's just say that the 70s was the best decade ever and this show shows it better than ever. You'll see that all the cast members bring their own uniqueness to the set and this show is one of the bests.
