Editorial Reviews

In the two-part finale of Season 2 (aptly titled "All Hell Breaks Loose"), Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) sold his soul -- literally -- in order to bring his murdered brother Sam (Jared Padalecki) back to life. In 2007-8's Season 3, the Winchester brothers wrestle with the rules of the demonic contract: Dean only has one year to live before he's taken down into Hell, and if he tries to break the covenant Sam dies. Despite this warning, Sam searches desperately during their regular quests as demon hunters to discover who holds the contract in order to reverse the deal. What's interesting to watch as the season progresses is the emotional toll Dean's decision takes on both brothers. Both Ackles and Padalecki are up to the challenge; scenes in the episode "A Very Supernatural Christmas" are some of the best in the series so far. Other notable episodes include season opener "The Magnificent Seven," in which Sam and Dean meet the mysterious -- and suspiciously helpful -- Ruby (Katie Cassidy); "Bad Day at Black Rock" introduces antiquities thief and season-long antagonist Bela Talbot (Lauren Cohan); in "Mystery Spot" Sam is trapped in a horrible day that keeps repeating over and over; the humorous "Ghostfacers" features a team of ghost hunters who get in the way of the brothers; and in "Jus in Bello," we're introduced to Lilith (Rachel Pattee), the powerful demon who wants the brothers dead. Concluding the season is the finale, "No Rest for the Wicked," in which the Winchesters meet Lilith in person, and Dean's contract comes due. The 16-episode set contains over an hour of bonus features and an offer for a digital copy of the season. Christina Urban, Barnes & Noble

July 11, 2009: This is as good as the other Supernatural shows from Seasons 1 and 2!!! I have seen all the episodes for this season (on the CW) even though the actual DVD isn't out yet until September 2009.The show still keeps me wanting more!! The writers and producer have done such an excellent job I hate to see the last Season ( hope it's not this upcoming season 4!) end...I would highly recommend this to anyone and to begin watching the show from the very first episode. This is one of the best shows I have ever seen !!!!!

May 09, 2009: This may be my favorite season of Supernatural. I recommend this show to anybody that'll listen to me. My favorite episode of the season is when they get stuck in jail.
