Editorial Reviews

Red-jacketed, blue-shirted Clark Kent (Tom Welling) draws closer to his Superman destiny in the exciting 22-episode, 6-disc Season 8 (2008-9) of Smallville. Another Kryptonian destiny also takes shape. Davis Bloome (Sam Witwer) begins to realize he is Doomsday. His mission on Earth: kill Clark Kent. So many new events (will Jimmy (Aaron Ashmore) and Chloe's (Allison Mack) marriage last?), so many new faces (Tess Mercer (Cassidy Freeman), so many state-of-the-art effects -- so don’t miss a single thrill-packed moment! August 25, 2009: I've watched Smallville since it's debut in 2000 and have LOVED every episode! Season 8 is NO exception! Each season seems to top the last and I can NOT wait for season 9! :)

June 08, 2009: Season 8 felt like a breath of fresh air with the addition of some new characters and storylines, and the departure of some old ones. Clark is getting closer and closer to his destiny, working at the Daily Planet and growing closer to Lois Lane. There was a lot less Lex and Lana drama, and some fun guest stars. In Season 8, we were introduced to Tess Mercer, Lex's replacement at Luthercorp, and Davis Bloom a.k.a. Doomsday. Green Arrow is back as a series regular. Martian Manhunter, Supergirl, Black Canary, Aquaman and Impulse all reappear. We meet members of the Legion from the future, as well as Maxima, Zatanna, Plastique, Parasite, the Toyman and the Persuader. With few missteps, Season 8 was one of the most enjoyable of the series. Standout episodes include "Committed", "Identity", "Bride", "Legion", and "Infamous".
