    This high-camp, independent fantasy adventure mixes elements of comic books, Westerns, post-apocalyptic science fiction (particularly The Road Warrior (1981)), chop-sockey action films, Elvis Presley musicals, and road pictures into a postmodern stew. Jeffrey Falcon is Buddy, a samurai guitar player wandering through a dystopian, alternate-reality America. In 1957, the Russians dropped nuclear bombs on the country, which is now mostly a barren wasteland of sand dunes, save for "Lost Vegas," which has become the new U.S. capitol and the residence of Elvis, who is now quite literally the King. News arrives that Elvis has died, and Buddy sets out for the City of Sin to take the ruler's place, accompanied by a mute kid (Justin McGuire). Along the way, the pair will face numerous villains, including Death (Stephane Gauger) and his trio of archers, as well as cannibals, mutants and three lethal bowlers. Karl Williams, All Movie Guide

    September 03, 2004: With a unique blend of action, science fiction and good old fashion rock-and-roll, Six String Samurai brings us the story of Buddy, a washed-up rocker who would be The King in a post-apocolyptic southwest American desert. With score by Brian Tyler and original songs from The Red Elvises (a mixture of classic rock-and-roll, traditional Russian music and scat), the film promises a good time, and brings it through seemlessly with excellent cinematography and action sequenses starring Jeffrey Falcon.

    May 16, 2002: This movie, summarized above, is definitely strange and has little dialogue. However, it's a fun and even touching story, which I didn't expect at all. My favorite thing about this movie is the filming of the action sequences, though. There are times when the filming has a 3-d quality to it, others when it's slow motion to music, and one great one where you don't exactly see the action, but it's reflection on a still pond. I've never noticed or cared about the filming before, because I've never seen it done so well. I highly recommend watching it.
