Editorial Reviews

Elmo rings in the holidays with a little help from his human and Muppet friends in this festive pageant of songs, stories, and multicultural celebrations. Guest star Kelly Ripa (as Letter Carrier Kelly) delivers greetings from families and beloved Muppet characters celebrating Christmas, Chanukah, and Kwanzaa. Captivating live-action and animated segments introduce the stories and traditions of these holidays. Adding to the fun is an appearance by Bill Irwin, Michael Jeter, and Kristin Chenoweth as the Noodle Family, who engage in hilarious tree-trimming slapstick, as well as charming scenes of children baking cookies, writing cards, and opening presents. A song from Santa wraps things up on a heartwarming note. Even the most Scroogiest of Scrooges will melt under the warmth of Elmo's indefatigable high spirits. Donald Liebenson, Barnes & Noble

October 30, 2008: We got this in the 3 DVD Holiday pack and were not sure since my son at 16 months does not like elmo's world. It truly is wonderful. If covers, christmas as a holiday with santa and christmas card giving and then it moves to segments on how the different religions celebrate the holiday season:
hannukah, explaining the menorah (sp?), how it came to be and the dradle game
kawanza, explaining the african tradition and their candle lighting and what it symbolizes
Christmas with a funny rehearsal of the Jesus and the manger
Kids talking about Ramadan and Ede
It really is so educational and culturally exposing.

September 29, 2003: Our one-year-old son loves this dvd. It describes several holidays that people celebrate, as well as, Christmas. It also teaches that having Christmas spirit (or holiday spirit) is more important than giving someone a gift or thinking of the gifts that you will receive. The Elmo puppetry is also quite impressive.
