It's always fun to return to Elmo's World, where an uncanny knack for honing in on preschool concerns has made Elmo Sesame Street’s best-known resident. As the title suggests, this new-to-video collection finds Elmo and his most beloved goldfish, Dorothy, thinking about families, mail, and bath time. Live-action footage and animation convey an inclusive portrait of multiethnic, multicultural, and multigenerational family units. The next segment is a real special delivery, as Elmo addresses how to send a letter and enumerates the various things one can get in the mail. Finally, Elmo makes a big splash with a segment devoted to baths. Footage of animals getting their own baths adds to the wet-and-wild fun. Of course, it wouldn’t be Elmo’s World without Mr. Noodle and his brother, Mr. Noodle (Bill Irwin and the late Michael Jeter), who never fail to amuse with their what's-wrong-with-this-picture clowning.
