Viewers can share in Sammy Hagar's birthday celebration, as the popular lead singer leads his band the Waboritas in two live performances. Hagar took over as lead for the band formerly known as Van Halen, and never looked back. This program presents the band at two locations. One is in a tiny club called the Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas, and the other is on the big stage at a top Chicago venue. In both locations, Sammy Hagar and the Waboritas belt out some of their best-known tunes. ~ Rose of Sharon Winter, All Movie Guide All Movie Guide

December 15, 2003: I've been a fan of Sammy for many years! This DVD kicks butt! Pure rock! He played his old stuff, 'Red' to 'Shaka Doobie'. I wish I was at this concert, 'Chicago Wabo'! He knows how to have a good time and bring the crowd into it. Check out his latest Live CD, you won't be disappointed.

March 04, 2003: This dvd is a killer. I have been a fan of Sammy since he joined Van Halen in '86, he really does have a killer voice. Roth was certainly very entertaining during his VH days, but Sammy is not only a showman, but is also a singer, & a songwriter. Roth can't sing, no one would be silly enough to argue against that fact. The old VH Live Without A Net VHS video, while a classic in it's day, looks very outdated today so if you enjoyed that you should definately invest in this dvd. He is looking a little old though (what's with those sun glasses?) & the banter between songs is a little beyond silly at times. Highlight's include 'Red', 'Heavy Metal', 'There's Only One Way To Rock', 'Top of The World', 'I Can't Drive 55', 'High & Dry Again', 'A Little Bit More', & 'Shaka Doobie'. Low lights - only 4 Van Halen songs - Cabo Wabo in full would have been great, also 'Dreams' is noticeably absent, 'Give To Live' is not here either & I think (believe it or not) that 'Jesse's Girl' - the song he penned for Rick Springfield 20 years ago would be a great inclusion into his live set. Nice intimate setting, great performance from the Red Rocker & his band - great sound - good camera work - definately worth adding to your dvd collection. Hopefully his forthcoming live CD will include some of the above tunes that failed to make it to this dvd. Hopefully also VH will be talked into releasing a live dvd in the not too distant future of one of their past shows - regardless whether it has Roth, Hagar or Cherone up front, it's well overdue.
