Editorial Reviews

Nearly ten years after their fruitful collaboration on Pretty Woman, stars Richard Gere and Julia Roberts reunited with director Garry Marshall to come up with another winner. Gere plays a cynical USA Today columnist who ends up falling for the subject of one of his articles, a small-town charmer (Roberts) with a penchant for stranding fiancés at the altar. So what if the facile plotting undercuts believability? Runaway Bride succeeds perfectly as a star vehicle for the always-luminous Roberts and the boyishly handsome Gere. This radiant pair have an unmistakable chemistry that carries the movie much farther than one would expect. Frequently silly, unabashedly sentimental, and always charming, Runaway Bride harks back to the romantic comedies of Hollywood's golden age. Ed Hulse, Barnes & Noble

December 28, 2005: The acting is great, there's chemistry, and the whole storyline is amazing too. Julia Roberts has phenominal acting skills and Richard Geres is also really good. It's funny, believable, and definately worth watching. The whole "I guarentee..." speech is sweet. I HIGHLY recommend this movie!
