Don't let the title concern you. There are no scenes of Anjelica cavorting at Mardi Gras or on spring break. Instead, this animated feature follows in the hallowed TV crossover tradition of The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones by uniting two of Nickelodeon's signature franchises, Rugrats and The Wild Thornberrys. The two clans meet after the sea-cruising Pickles family and company are marooned on a remote island, upon which the globe-trotting Thornberrys are in search of a rare leopard to film for father Nigel's TV nature series. Luckily, toddling Tommy Pickles is a big fan of Nigel (voiced by Tim Curry), who becomes childlike himself following a coconut conk on the head. The princess pairing of Anjelica and Debbie Thornberry is a match made in cartoon diva heaven. And thanks to Eliza Thornberry's ability to talk to the animals, we get to hear Bruce Willis as Spike the dog ("Want to smell my butt?"). Rugrats' trademark bodily function jokes earn this film a PG -- as in "pretty gross" -- rating. Speaking of gross, use with caution the accompanying scratch-and-sniff "Odorama" cards, which contain scents -- ranging from strawberries and peanut butter to smelly feet -- that correspond to numbers flashed onscreen. Spike's duet with that wild cat (voiced by great Pretender Chrissie Hynde) is the lone musical highlight. Despite inevitable references to films and TV shows such as Titanic, Jaws, and Gilligan's Island, adults may feel stranded by the infantile goings-on. But young fans of both series will bask in the big, smelly, slapstick fun. Donald Liebenson, Barnes & Noble
