Editorial Reviews

Calling itself the "Quintessential Party DVD," Road Trip is a modern-day Animal House-on-wheels, tracking a pack of wild University of Ithaca college students as they drive cross-country to intercept a homemade porno tape that has accidentally been sent to one of their girlfriends. Director Todd Phillips is on familiar prankster ground here, having won the Sundance Grand Jury Prize for his documentary Frat House. MTV’s bent comic Tom Green is outrageous as a college student whose name just happens to be Barry Manilow, and American Pie’s Sean William Scott gets major laughs as the horn-dog along for the ride. Dan Savage of the Village Voice gave Road Trip uncommon praise for featuring "unattractive people having sex." The DVD features deleted scenes, "The Making of Road Trip" with Tom Green, an Eels music video, and an interactive DVD-ROM game. The longer, uncensored version ("UN R8D") -- which adds a bit of "scandalous." uncensored, bare-naked nekkid (but not too-too racy) footage -- is available on VHS as well. December 03, 2001: One of those movies you need on your shelf, to watch over and over. But what's the deal with the unrated version? Is it worth it?

A movie for guys who like adventure moviesby Anonymous

November 18, 2001: When I saw Road Trip last February, I immediately fell in love with it. It featured all the things guys would like in it: chicks, travelling, Tom Green, frequent coarse language and nudity. Road Trip has an interesting story line, in which a guy and a girl were friends when they were little kids, became boyfriend and girlfriend when they were teens, but soon separated. And when the guy makes a videotape of him having sex with another girl and ships it off the girl. The movie is full of action and is the one to rent. Did I mention the nudity?
