Editorial Reviews

It’s another season of challenge and turbulence for Tommy (Denis Leary) and the guys. This season, an arson investigation following the beach house fire targets Tommy; Janet (Andrea Roth) worries that her new baby doesn’t like her; Tommy’s daughter Colleen (Natalie Distler) runs away from home; and a not-guilty verdict is returned in Uncle Teddy’s (Lenny Clarke) manslaughter trial. Also during Season 4 (2007), a beloved character commits suicide, and the crew from 62 Truck is savaged in the press for not being able to save seven children from dying in a tragic fire. Along with the full 13-episode Season 4 run, this set also includes six featurettes, 22 deleted scenes, a gag reel, and more. From the Studio

Has Rescue Me jumped the shark?by Anonymous

July 13, 2008: Having enjoyed the first 3 seasons, I expected more of the same. However, season 4 was a huge disappointment. Character motivation went out the window. Less emphasis on fighting fires, more focus on Tommy's implausible sex life &amp amp quot Except for the episode where he has sex DURING a rescue, as he pulls a woman out of the fire! Tommy gives his newborn son/possible nephew to Sheila, the woman who tried to kill him in a fire in season? This is a ridiculous scenario. Mike the probie remains beyond stupid how did he even make it into the department? The big reveal that both his parents were gay made no sense. Plus there was no follow-up. Franco's women troubles have become tedious. Sean's assertion that he's an alcoholic, just so he can remain in the Gavin family is insulting. More fires, less implausible sex scenarios. I will be skipping the mini-sodes.

June 10, 2008: Tommy and the boys at station 62 continue to amuse with their troubles with opposite sex, children and each other. It mixes both the funny and the sad together. Leary who gets way to much talent if you know what I mean, is great in his role and in a strange twist of fate Tatum O'Neal plays his sister who has a substance abuse problem. I recommend it to any Leary fan and I say rent one from the local video and you may get hooked like I did.
