Editorial Reviews

If you're a fan of procedural crime dramas, you've just found the show that started them all.! Although Perry mason (Raymond Burr) is a lawyer by trade, he and his staff Della Street (Barbara Hale) and Paul Drake (William Hopper) spend most of their time sleuthing. Unmasking the real culprit is the only way to free their always-innocent clients. This special anniversary set is bursting with prime Perry: a dozen of the legendary lawyer's most incredible cases, featuring stellar guest stars. There's a whole disc of special features, including Raymond Burr's previously unseen screen tests; new cast interviews; the movie-of-the-week Perry Mason Returns, and more. After 50 years, nobody beats Perry Mason. From the Studio

February 09, 2009: The Perry Mason collection is wonderful! It brings you back to times when stories were told and not rushed. You are always wondering who did it, right up til the end. It is also great for those people who enjoy crime, drama, and suspense in a movie. It is set at the time it was filmed in the 50's 60 era. All black and white except one. The black and white adds o the setting of it. A person growing up after the 70's can appreciate how things looked back then and what it was like to be in a court room with a brilliant lawyer. Highly recommend.

April 26, 2008: As a great fan of the Perry Mason genre, I looked forward to this 50th year release. However, it has been a disapointment in the information that is placed on the package. One would not know the episodes or the years they come from. You are buying blind when you purchase this edition. The DVD sponsors should have kept up with the program and released the entire third year and added the 50th anniversary interviews to that. All the episodes can be purchsed in other volumes that are released or are not. Great actors and script but someone tried the capitalize on the 50th year in the wrong way. The mystery of Perry Mason episodes should be in the script and not in the cover
