Originally aired on CBS, the made-for-TV holiday romance One Special Night brings together James Garner and Julie Andrews for their third feature together, after The Americanization of Emily and Victor/Victoria. Robert (Garner) visits his wife in the hospital, who is suffering from Alzheimer's disease. There he meets the stern Catherine (Andrews), a widowed pediatrician who spends her downtime visiting the room in the hospital where her husband died a year ago. In the middle of a raging snowstorm on Thanksgiving, Catherine offers Robert a ride and they get stuck in the snow. Taking refuge in an empty cabin, the couple get over their initial personality conflicts to engage in a meaningful dialogue. Andrea LeVasseur, All Movie Guide

January 10, 2004: One man, one woman, alone in a cabin and actually talk..go fiqure...it is quite a refreshing change from violence and sex. James Garner is a marvelous actor who can speak volumes with one look. Julie Andrews was great as always...This movie could be a chapter out of the book 'Women are from Venus and Men from Mars' in a warped kind of way, but an enjoyable film.

November 11, 2003: James Garner is visiting his wife in a nursing home and runs into Julie Andrews in her dead husbands old room. This chance encounter leads to her giving a ride to James Garner in the middle of a huge snowstorm. Her car runs into a snow bank and they end up walking in the blizzard seeking shelter. They find a vacant cabin and spend the night. The rest is magic!
