In this future-set sci-fi action adventure the post-holocaust world in which mankind was defeated by his own machines is now populated and controlled by cyborgs carrying sharpened sticks and laser boomerangs. Omega Doom (Rutger Hauer) is one such cyborg. He is programmed to destroy everything that moves until a sharp blow to the head causes a short and makes him want to help the planet's few remaining human beings regain control. December 28, 2004: Sure to become a cult classic, Omega Doom features Rutger Hauer (Blind Fury; Ladyhawke; Flesh & Blood) in the title role as a reformed 'bot', reprogrammed by humans to reform the planet one deadly dual at a time. An engaging battle of strategy and wits, the movie's highlights are its stunt-filled action sequences. Outnumbered ten to one, but lightning-fast, Omega Doom arrives in a wasted fomer city and begins his quest to destroy evil by secretly aligning himself with each of two warring cyborg factions. One by one, he shrewdly isolates and out-draws each member of the two groups, including Anna Katarina, whose day-long death scene is nearly over-the-top, and Jill Pierce who shows no mercy and is given none. In the climatic battle, he meets his match and is done-for until the meek bartender (Shannon Whirry) finds the courage to join a disemobdied head (sardoniclly played by Norbert Weisser) to help Omega Doom. After vanquishing the quickest and smartest remaining cyborg, Hauer heads North where there's talk of 'another like you.'
