Director Bill Duke steps behind the camera for this adaptation of the T.D. Jakes novel concerning a newly married couple that finds their union threatened by pressures involving faith, family, and finances. As the couple exchanges their vows, the minister lays a cord around them while uttering the blessing, "a threefold cord is not easily broken." Later, during their darkest hour, the minister's advice to always keep God at the center of their marriage could be the only thing that keeps this troubled pair together. September 18, 2009: *Great for those thinking about marriage. *Draws you in. *Emotional. *This is a quality marriage/relationship DVD on lessons of love, listening, and caring for your marriage partner. *Offers insightful advice. *Do a house, a car, and/or a nice employment position determine that a couple will have a good marriage? How does all this hold up when it is gone? These are just some questions to ponder. *This DVD offers quality advice to strengthen a marriage. Another DVD you may want to view is "Fireproof", it is good too.

April 20, 2009: Morris Chestnut is gorgeous but the movie even made that real. His wife begins to take that for granted depite me, the viewer, not being able to forget as the screen flashes from scene to scene of his athletic build playing basketball, working out, coaching little league. That's like marriage; we forget to "see" our spouses as others do or even as we did when we were dating. The way their marriage began to fall apart slowly and without real understanding or communication on either of their parts, was realistic and well written. The ending is wonderful.
