The titular Norbit is a meek and lovable milquetoast married to an overbearing, overweight tyrant. But when he meets the woman of his dreams, he finds his life turned upside down in this romantic comedy starring Eddie Murphy, Thandie Newton, Cuba Gooding Jr., and Eddie Griffin. His entire life, Norbit (Murphy) has been picked on and put down, and after being bullied into marrying the most obnoxious woman in town (also Murphy) it appears as if that's the way things will remain until the day he dies. Upon meeting the one woman who seems to accept him for who he is, Norbit is instilled with a newfound sense of hope for the future. July 15, 2007: Okay, even i admit this movie looked absolutely STUPID, but when i finally took up enough courage (and dignity) to rent this film, i was glad i did. Eddie Murphy plays Norbit, Raspushia, and Mr. Wong in this disturbingly abusive GIANT film. Yes, finally we get to see what an angry, over obsessive black woman does with her life, but more importantly, we learn about love, right? If that means going down a waterslide and smashing through a fence, it's still love. But when Norbit gets back together with his school girlfriend that just came back into town, you just know Raspushia is going to get in the way, literally. (don't miss the scene Raspushia gets into her re-ajusted carseat.) Honk that horn!!
