    Editorial Reviews

At a time when Darwin's theory of evolution is continually being challenged by proponents to Intelligent Design, the award-winning filmmakers at Nova explores the concept of evolution and ask whether or not Intelligent Design is truly a valid scientific alternative by examining the public uproar that erupted when science teachers in Dover, Pennsylvania public schools were asked to read a letter stating that life was too complex to have evolved as Darwin hypothesized. When the teachers refused to read the letter and banned together with parents to file a federal lawsuit accusing the school board of violating the constitutional separation of church and state, the resulting trial sent lawyers and expert witnesses scrambling. In this documentary, the case of Kitzmiller v. Dover School District is covered through reenactments based on actual court transcripts, as well as interviews conducted with key participants and actual scientists. Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
