Editorial Reviews

My Three Sons -- a delightful slice-of-life comedy about one of TV's earliest single-parent families -- introduced viewers to the five men of the Douglas family in September 1960. Fred MacMurray delivers a standout performance as Steve Douglas, a widowed aeronautical engineer raising his three sons, with the occasional help/hindrance of his father-in-law, Michael Francis "Bub" O'Casey (William Frawley, I Love Lucy's beloved Fred Mertz). This initial volume, containing the first 18 Season 1 episodes, finds Steve guiding his boys through widely differing challenges: the oldest son, Mike (Tim Considine), is in college; Robbie (Don Grady) is in the midst of those tumultuous high school years; and the youngest, Chip (Stanley Livingston), is coping with adolescence. Wrangling this rambunctious group is a full-time job; and that's where Grandpa Bub comes in. Being the cook, the nanny, and the housekeeper to three growing boys isn't easy, as Bub quickly finds out! Loaded with laughs, these early episodes will let you relive one of the all-time long-running classic comedy series in television history! From the Studio

December 20, 2008: The only quality shows are the old ones and that is why I look for boxed sets of old shows or watch TV Land. Some of the sets I have purchased have different music and some are not the complete season, but split up. IT IS GREED to charge such high prices for these boxed sets and dvds for old shows. It is a racket to put garbage on tv and then charge high prices for poor quality dvds of the good old shows. Shame on the companies who do this!!! Think of what you are doing to old folks and kids who need good tv to watch. When I buy a dvd of an old show I expect the same music and quality that the show had originally! Especially since I am paying for it now!!!!!

October 17, 2008: CBS/Paramount changed background music and has destroyed the nostalgic quality of this series. They're not even stopping to think about the fans of this lovely old show and instead let their greed get the best of them.
There's 12 seasons to this series and CBS/Paramount releases this as a split-season,while charging full season prices, and it's only a half-hour show.Just think what this would end up costing you if you wanted to buy the whole series!
SHAME ON YOU,CBS/PARAMOUNT!
