Editorial Reviews

A sitcom that aired on the BBC in 1992 and '93, Mulberry features an apprentice Grim Reaper who seeks employment at the estate of the woman he's supposed to escort into the next world. By hiding his identity, the fun-loving, humorous specter of death Mulberry (Karl Howman) decides to make the last days of cantankerous Miss Farnaby (Geraldine McEwan) as happy as possible at the manor -- much to the annoyance of her other staff, Bert (Tony Selby) and Alice Finch (Lill Roughley). This also doesn't sit well with Mulberry's father, the full-fledged Reaper himself, otherwise known as the Stranger (John Bennett). Unfortunately, the clever show only lasted two seasons -- despite plans for a third -- so fans will have to decide for themselves if Mulberry ever fulfilled his mission.
