Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby (John Nettles) and his young partner, Sergeant Gavin Troy (Daniel Casey), return to the beat in this collection of episodes from the show's sixth series in 2003. British mainstay Honor Blackman guests in the first episode, "A Talent for Life," in which Barnaby and Troy have to solve the double murder of a socialite and her boyfriend, who are found bludgeoned to death. Barnaby comes close to getting in over his head as he investigates a string of fatalities in "Death and Dreams." "Painted in Blood" finds Barnaby's wife, Joyce (Jane Wymark), stumbling upon a dead body while she's painting in the countryside. Barnaby and Troy are called in to investigate a suspicious explosion that took a man's life in "A Tale of Two Hamlets." And finally, in "Birds of Prey," a drowning appears to be suicide, but Barnaby and Troy are on the case to prove it was really murder. Barnes & Noble
