Editorial Reviews

Still stationed on the tiny island of Taratupa during World War II, Lt. Cmdr. Quinton McHale (Ernest Borgnine), Ensign Parker (Tim Conway), and the rest of the scheming crew of PT-73 are back with 36 hilarious adventures from 1963-64's Season 2. In between maneuvers, the skipper and his swabbies are on a permanent quest for wine, women, and profit. Battles with the Japanese could never measure up to the ongoing conflict between McHale and his commanding officer, Capt. "Leadbottom" Binghamton (Joe Flynn). With Binghamton plotting to get McHale and his crew tossed out of the Navy and the boys planning more fun and games, the real war on Taratupa is between the brass and the crew. The weapons in this arsenal are crosses, double-crosses, and nonstop hilarity. The crew never surrenders its right to have fun. Included as a special feature is an interview with Borgnine and Conway, in which these legendary performers reflect on their roles and experiences in the series. From the Studio
