Leftist comedian Margaret Cho issues another salvo in her ongoing battle to laugh intolerant conservatives out of power in this performance documentary. Recorded during two dates during Cho's 2005 standup tour, Margaret Cho: The Assassin Tour features the acerbically funny comic discussing such subjects as the ongoing battle over gay marriage, the 2004 presidential election, the presidency of George W. Bush, the Terri Schiavo case, possible upsides of being raised in a restrictive culture, her mother's recent heart attack, and what happened when she was unexpectedly booked to entertain a Republican activist group. December 14, 2005: As we have come to expect, MC has brought the standup comedy with a fierceness. Although not as vulgar as some of her prior concerts, the viewer will forgive that due to her scathing political tirade. I didn't laugh as much as I did watching her other standup, but this was more a thinking person's routine. Hey, she "did" her mom, so I was happy. The Extras include some contributions from fans and one was quite touching...the other one I just didn't get. Bottom Line: Rent definitly, but only a MCHO true fan will purchase. That's my girl, though.
