    Editorial Reviews

What is the sound of New Orleans? Make It Funky! traces the Big Easy's exuberant musical lineage from the early days of jazz and the blues through zydeco, R&B, rock n' roll, and everything else that's ever called the Crescent City home. Featuring archival footage as well as brand-new performances and interviews featuring the players most widely identified with the New Orleans sound -- including the Neville Brothers, Fats Domino, Bonnie Raitt, Allen Toussaint, Professor Longhair, the Funky Meters, and others -- this is history you can dance to. January 19, 2008: I don't tire of watching this DVD. I can't tell you how many copies I've purchased for myself and gave to newcomers who wanted to learn more about the music of the Crescent City. Thusfar, all have enjoyed the DVD. And, I keep buying a replacement for my personal "local music" library.
