    Editorial Reviews

Made drops two floundering amateur boxers (Vince Vaughn and director Jon Favreau) into a money-laundering scheme that takes them from tedious L.A. day jobs to the heights of New York club life. Favreau the filmmaker tries a little of everything -- jump cuts, freeze frames, contrapuntal sound, indie-flick ukulele-strumming and the half-asleep glory of Peter Falk, who here plays a mob boss. The result is a vibrant genre salad -- the boxing movie punching on the construction-worker movie, which plays voyeur to the stripper movie, which shimmies next to the mob movie, which badda-bings the hip-hop fantasia, which washes all over the late-Woody Allen handheld photography. Packed with appearances by Faizon Love, Jennifer Esposito, Drea de Matteo (The Sopranos), Famke Janssen and Sean "P-Diddy" Combs, not to mention rivers of Cristal and after hours booty-jiggling, the film is Swingers in a ghetto fabulous thought bubble.
