March 21, 2008: If your like me, you are a fan of original shows that break any preconceived notion you might have had of them. Well Lucky Louie is definately one of those. Picking it up randomly one day at work, the only things i knew about this show were, 1. it was on HBO, 2. it was a sitcom, and 3. the star was a stand up comedian. Other than that i was clueless. Upon placing this disc in my DVD player, i was shocked to learn that this was a sitcom not like any other. Filmed in front of a live studio audiance, Lucky Louie has that Friends or Seinfeld feel, but, the best part, it's on HBO so the language and subject matter may be anything. The timing is perfect, the sarcasm and one liners are side splitting. To be honest, i could say this might be HBO's funniest comedy. Surpassing both Entourage and Curcb Your Enthusiasm. Do yourself a favor, pick up Lucky Louie, if yur a fan of other sitcoms, this is definately the one for you.
