Kathy Smith has created a really good workout that isn't super complicated like many other aerobic workouts. The steps are easy to get, but not boring. It's a lot of fun, not too ''aerobic-y'' or too dancy. There are two 20 minute workout segments. There really isn't a warm up and cool down phase, so it's 20 minutes of actual cardio activity, unlike some short workouts where you end up doing 9 minutes of cardio. I feel like the movements start out slow enough to warm me up, but some might need to move around a little bit while Kathy is talking before the work out begins. There is a really good stretch 7 minute at the end. If I do one of the segments, I feel like I've gotten a good workout. If I do both, I'm sweating my butt off. The workout is solely cardio work and stretching at the end, no strength training or abs. As for the format, I imagine some people won't like it. There are many people working out, along with Kathy front and center. She does move around quite a bit and has some of her friends, as she calls them, come up to do certain routines with her. I'm not distracted by that, but if you prefer a video where the instructor stays in one place and has one person to each side, this probably is not the workout for you. There are a few minor queing mess ups, including one of her friends who says the wrong move that's coming up. There are these goofy slow motion looking clips put into it. There a little distracting at first, but I've gotten used to them and they don't throw me off. Those are the two reasons I gave it a 4 instead of a 5. The best thing about the DVD is that Kathy shows each movement individually before putting them together into a routine. She doesn't demonstrate them so slowly that you're standing around waiting for her to finish once you've learned them. I feel like this is a good workout for beginners. People just starting out should be able to get the movements in a few sessions.

Kathy Smith does an excellent job with this video. It is so fun, it is almost addictive. It is very challenging but not ridiculously difficult. Kathy does a great job explaining the moves and lets you know in advance when it is time to go to the next move. This is not a video you will do a couple of times, know by heart, and be bored with. It is fun, challenging, and best of all, it works!!
