Go, go, Joseph! Staged for home video, this lavish $8 million production of the beloved Andrew Lloyd Webber-Tim Rice musical is the perfect encore to the 1998 video release of CATS. Recreating his stage triumph, Donny Osmond again dons the Joseph loincloth as the favorite son of Jacob (Richard Attenborough) and sibling rival of all his bitter brothers. By turns clever and campy, this exuberant Dreamcoat chronicles Joseph's fall from grace and triumphant rise as second in command to the Egyptian Pharaoh (a showstopping Elvis-like turn by Robert Torti). Save for one slightly naughty seduction scene between Joseph and the "evil" wife of slave-owning millionaire Potiphar (Joan Collins in a funny casting coup), Dreamcoat is a family-friendly show. Among the show's best-known songs are "Any Dream Will Do," "One More Angel," the stirring "Close Every Door," and "Go, Go, Joseph." Joseph's downtrodden brothers' comedic lament is another highpoint. Webber-Rice and Donny Osmond fans will find this Dreamcoat's a keeper. Donald Liebenson, Barnes & Noble
