Editorial Reviews

The fifth installment of the Jesse Stone franchise finds the Massachusetts police chief drawing the wrath of the Town Council after inadvertently being drawn into a shoot-out on the streets of Boston. Paradise, Mass. Police Chief Jesse Stone (Tom Selleck) has just been involved in a highly-publicized shoot-out that left his friend, State Homicide Commander Healy (Stephen McHattie), seriously wounded. As a result, the Boston Police Department's Internal Affairs division launches an investigation against Chief Stone, causing the dedicated lawman to be away from Paradise for extended periods of time and drawing unwanted attention from the Town Council. When Chief Stone fires the Paradise Police Department's most enthusiastic ticket-writer, the city's main source of revenue takes a serious hit. His status with the Town Council already faltering, the chief puts his own job in serious jeopardy by agreeing to help a celebrated out-of-towner search for her missing child. September 01, 2009: ALL OF THE JESSE STONE MOVIES HAVE BEEN GREAT. TOM SELLICK IS A GREAT JESSE STONE.

August 22, 2009: "Thin Ice" was true to the character that Tom Selleck continues to play outstandingly. It seemed the storyline was not consistant with the previous four Jesse Stone movies. This was the first in the Jesse Stone series that I was somewhat disappointed in. I am glad I purchased it though as I have watched them in sequence many times and still enjoy them each time. As with Magnum P.I., this role seems to have been written with Tom Selleck in mind as it seems as if you are really watching him personally, not an actor in a role. This is to me a sign of great writing, acting, and producing. I would most definitely recommend this and the other movies in the Jesse Stone series.

I Also Recommend: Jesse Stone: Stone Cold, Jesse Stone - Night Passage, Jesse Stone - Death in Paradise, Jesse Stone - Sea Change, Appaloosa.
