    Editorial Reviews

The second year of the sketch comedy series In Living Color is notable for the introduction of one of the most memorable characters of any season: Fire Marshal Bill. Jim Carrey portrays the charbroiled official, who constantly bursts into flames while attempting to teach fire safety. Other classic characters include the irreverent Men on Film, the antisocial Homey the Clown, bodybuilder Vera De Milo, school hall monitor Al MacAfee, and the Hedleys from the "Hey Mon" sketches. Some of the skits can seem a bit dated, such as the Spike Lee parody "Spike's Joint," but most stand the test of time. While cast members Jamie Fox, David Alan Grier, and Damon Wayans all enjoy highlight moments, this season belongs to Carrey, who truly broke out of the pack despite relatively few appearances during the year. Even with small parts in skits like "Tag-Team Evangelists" and "Lil' Miss Trouble: The School Play," Carrey steals the spotlight. All 26 episodes of Season 2 are included as they originally aired in the set, making it a definite must-have for fans of the series. Christina Urban, Barnes & Noble
