    For the third film in this series, Alex D. Linz replaced Macaulay Culkin as the central figure. Four industrial spies acquire a missile guidance-system computer chip and smuggle it through an airport inside a remote-controlled toy car. Because of baggage confusion, grouchy Mrs. Hess (Marian Seldes) gets the car. She gives it to her neighbor, eight-year-old Alex (Linz), just before the spies turn up. The spies rent a house in order to burglarize each house in the neighborhood until they locate the car. Home alone with the chicken pox, Alex calls 911 each time he spots a theft in progress, but the spies always manage to elude the police -- while Alex is accused of making prank calls. The spies finally turn their attentions toward Alex, unaware that he has rigged devices to cleverly booby-trap his entire house. Bhob Stewart, All Movie Guide

    September 21, 2007: Aside from the first Home Alone, Number 3 is the best of the lot. It has a tight story and you have a genuine interest in the boy. His traps for these supposed international terrorists is priceless!! I LOVE Alex D. Linz's acting, way better than anyone else in the series. A bit of trivia, if you notice, you can see the FIRST Home Alone house in several scenes!!! This is a thoroughly entertaining movie you can watch again and again and still find lots to laugh about in it. Pay no need to negative reviewers, it's fun and one of John Hughes best!

    February 10, 2004: ...better. The thought of having another boy in the lead is unsettling. The thought of even having another Home Alone at all is unsettling. Why destroy a perfectly good series with another film that's almost exactly like the first? Change of plot or not, the boy is still at home...and it's still a matter of breaking in, like the first one.
