Editorial Reviews

Steve McGarrett (Jack Lord), Danny "Danno" Williams (James MacArthur), and the rest of the Five-O squad are back in action in this captivating six-disc, 24-episode collection from the show's seventh season (1974-75). Saboteurs, revolutionaries, vigilantes, and the diabolical villain Wo Fat (Khigh Dhiegh) are just a few of the dangers McGarrett and his team face as they mete out square-jawed justice and protect the Hawaiian peace. October 06, 2009: We always enjoyed watching it as younger folks, and remember those times as we watch each episode again. It is a good comparison to the "police shows" of today. Such an interesting contrast to see so much less violence and personal injury - "blood and guts" as it is known in the trade. It is a fun reminder of times that were easier to understand, though no better than today. I hope everyone who gets chance to watch them finds them worth spending time on. It reminds us of a time when there was such a thing as "right and wrong" and we were all supposed to know which was which. The making of the episodes was done using all the latest technological advances of the time. Knowing that, it is amazing to realize how far we have come technologically, carrying the same old problems.
