Editorial Reviews

Just when we thought the genre of hospital drama was all played out, along comes this striking new show, a midseason replacement whose immediate success dwarfed that of the popular show it was meant only temporarily to displace. Grey's Anatomy takes place at Seattle Grace, a prestigious training hospital, and follows five surgical interns -- Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh), Isobel Stevens (Katherine Heigl), Alex Karev (Justin Chambers), and George O'Malley (T. R. Knight) -- as they vie for choice operating-room assignments and interact with the experienced residents, among them Drs. Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey), Preston Burke (Isaiah Washington), and the fearsome Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson). Series creator and chief writer Shonda Rhimes does a marvelous job at the outset of giving these characters disparate personalities and having them interact in unexpected ways under difficult circumstances. The show's first year also revolves to some extent around the romance between Meredith and "Doctor McDreamy" (that's Shepherd, for those of you unfamiliar with the series), a relationship that comes to a screeching halt in the season finale. It's hard to pick outstanding episodes because, frankly, they're all quite good. One look at Season 1 will tell you why Grey's Anatomy has become the hottest new network drama in years. March 16, 2009: After my friends insisting, I finally gave in and watched her Grey's collection. I was hooked imediantly. Not only are the characters likeable and some quirky, it explores the human personality and things we go through. Keep watching all the seasons for even more indepth twists and turns. Striving to make it in a dog-eat-dog world, this loveable cast of characters will surely make you smile after a hard days work!

I Also Recommend: Grey's Anatomy - Season 2 Uncut, Grey's Anatomy - Season 3, Grey's Anatomy - Season 4.
